Early Life & Education
Mississippi roots. A lifetime of service.
David grew up understanding the value of hard work, integrity, and service to neighbor. Those values guided him through college and law school and continue to shape his approach to the practice of law today.
- B.S. in Accounting, Louisiana State University (1985)
- J.D., Baylor Law School (1987)
David and his wife, Bonnie, live in Madison. Bonnie is a professor at Mississippi College School of Law, and together they have dedicated their lives to serving their profession, their community, and the people of Mississippi.
Legal Career
More than three decades in law.
Admitted to practice in 1987, David has spent his entire career serving clients across Mississippi. Since 1999, he has focused his practice almost exclusively on family law — the area of the law that touches the most personal moments in our lives.
Today, he is a partner at Roberts, Bridges & Boydston, where he is known for thorough preparation, calm courtroom presence, and an unwavering commitment to fairness.
David is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) — a national distinction recognizing attorneys with the highest level of skill, experience, and professionalism in family law. Fewer than 1,600 attorneys in the country and only four in Mississippi hold this distinction.
Community Involvement
A neighbor first.
David has been an active member of his community, local bar associations, and civic organizations throughout the 11th District. He believes the work of a judge begins long before a robe is ever worn — in showing up for your neighbors, year after year.
Why I'm Running
"Because families deserve a judge with experience."
Chancery Court is where Mississippi families come during their hardest moments — divorce, custody, guardianship, the loss of a loved one. Those families deserve a judge who has sat across the table from people in those moments, who understands the law deeply, and who will decide each case on its facts with patience and care.
I am running because I believe my 25+ years of focused family law experience prepares me uniquely well for this bench. I will bring fairness, integrity, respect for the law, and a deep commitment to the people of Holmes, Leake, Madison, and Yazoo Counties.
